Job Announcements
The Department of Recreation, Natural Resources, & Culture is welcoming Applications for employment to support our 2023 Cool Summer in the Capital City programs and events that will run from Monday, June 26, 2023 through Monday, September 4, 2023. The duration of employment varies between programs.
We have the following positions available for the listed programs below:
Summer Food Service Program – provides free breakfast and lunch to help children in low-income areas get the nutrition they need.
- (1) Coordinator* $23.50 per hour; 35 hour work week
- (1) Bookkeeper/Secretary $20.00 per hour; 35 hour work week
- (4) Monitors* $18.25 per hour; 35 hour work week
- (26) Site Supervisors * $16.75 per hour; 30 hour work week
- (26) Assistant Site Supervisors $15.00 per hour; 30 hour work week
- (26) Student Assistants $14.00 per hour; 30 hour work week
Summer Pool Program – is responsible for maintaining five public swimming pools and Canoeing
at Cadwalader Park.
- (1) Summer Pool Coordinator* $24.50 per hour; 40 hour work week
- (1) Assistant Pool Coordinator* $22.00 per hour; 40 hour work week
- (10) Pool Managers** $18.50 per hour; 40 hour work week
- (40) Lifeguards** $17.00 per hour; 40 hour work week
Security: Boat Ramp, Parks, Pools, Recreation Centers, & Programs
- (1) Security Guard Supervisor* $23.00 per hour; 40 hour work week
- (70) Security Guards** (24 Hour Coverage for Pools) $17.00 per hour; 40 hour work week
Playground, Program & Event Support Team – Develops and oversees indoor & outdoor summer program activities, including but not limited to Movies Under the Stars, Basketball Leauges, Summer Concert Series, etc.
- (15) Recreation Site Coordinators $19.00 per hour; 40 hour work week
Take It To The Streets – neighborhood block parties.
- (1) Recreation Site Coordinator* $19.00 per hour; 35 hour work week
- (10) Student Assistants $14.00 per hour; 35 hour work week
*Requires a personal vehicle and a valid driver's license
